🥫 Warrior Connection Food Distribution, August 27

9:15am - 1pm, 147 N. Main St., Cleveland

Mark your calendars to help out with packing and distributing food boxes. If you are only available for part of that time, that's ok! They need all of the help we can offer! Be sure to wear your WCDC t-shirt!

🪧 Sign Making for White County Wave, August 27

3pm - 5pm, Tesnatee River Winery, 172 Lloyds Honey Farm Rd., Cleveland

We will have a sign-making party at Tesnatee River Winery (aka Allison's Honey Farm).Off Towncreek.  IF Amazon hurries, we'll have poster boards and markers available.  Just in case, you may want to bring your own, if you have it.  We will have a list of suggested short messages for you if you need.

🇺🇲 Attend Upcoming House-Blue Ribbon Committee Meeting on Election Procedures, August 28

10am - 4pm, North Georgia Technical College, 1500 GA-197, Industrial Technology Center – Event Center

Earlier this year, the Georgia House of Representatives established a "Blue-Ribbon" Study Committee on Election Procedures. This committee will "hear from election law and procedure experts to provide background and context on Georgia's current election landscape."

We need to pack the room with Georgians who support common sense election law and policy. Now is the time to act -- Please join us at the meeting! The Committee also plans to allow time for public comment (not required but encouraged). Register on Mobilize here.

🏰 Monthly Regular Meeting, August 28

6:30pm, Uhuberg Castle, 571 Ridge Road, Helen

For our meeting this month, Bob and Janine Marthai have graciously opened the castle for us! Our speaker will be Nick Mitchell, candidate for House District 8. Nick is taking on Stan Gunter and needs our support!

🪧 White County Wave, August 29

4pm - 6pm, Intersection of Main St. & Helen Hwy (corner by Ingles), Cleveland

We need for the citizens of our county to know that we're here, and we're not going away. We will wave signs every Friday, as long as it takes.  You can come for the full two hours, or 30 minutes, that's up to you.  You don't have to come every Friday, but as many Fridays as you can.You do not have to live in White County to participate.  This is the 9th District!

➡️ Carter-Lewis Dinner Discount Ticket Deadline, September 3

Please join the Democratic Party of Georgia and all of your friends at the annual Carter-Lewis Dinner, Friday, Oct. 3, at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta. There is a special offer for tickets and tables for committees, caucuses, councils, and affiliates available until Sept. 3. Price is $250 for an individual ticket and $2,500 for a table of 10. We hope to see you there!

📚 Read Dem Books Book Club, September 5

5pm, Creekstone Winery, 295 Hardman Farm Rd., Sautee 

Now is a great time to join us for terrific book discussions with great people! The book club will be reading Abundance by Ezra Klein and Derek Thompson. Ellen at Mt. Yonah Books has ordered us some copies and they should be in soon. Only hardback was available at $22 each. Come celebrate Latin culture at SNCC! The celebration will feature Lupita Sosa's Dance Group, Carnation the Clown, a food court and crafts. Tickets are $20 each with proceeds going to the Association for Mam Christian Women in Guatemala for their nutrition program
